Children's Passports

Q: I am a Jamaican national, do my children need to be registered as citizens of Jamaica to obtain a passport or travel document?

A:

Yes, an application for a Jamaican passport will not be entertained without proof of citizenship of Jamaica. This will not prevent these children from holding a British passport, if they are so entiled.

A citizenship application takes three months to process.

Completed certified application form, original birth certificate or other proof of Jamaican citizenship, parents’ ID, two photographs (one of which should be certified by the Certifying Official who signed the application form), in additon to the applicable fee.

Q: What documents are required to renew my child’s passport?

A:

Completed certified application form, expired passport, original birth certificate or other proof of Jamaican citizenship, parents’ ID, two photographs (one of which should be certified by the Certifying Official who signed the application form), in additon to the applicable fee.
