Jamaican high commission

Registration as a Citizen of Jamaica by Virtue of Marriage

Procedure

The application should be made (in duplicate) on the Registration Form, R1 which is obtainable PICA website: www.pica.gov.jm

The Form should be read carefully, then completed and signed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace, a Notary Public or Consular Officer.

Documentary Requirements:

  1. Applicant’s Birth Certificate
  2. Official Marriage Certificate (certified copy issued by a conmpetent authority).
  3. Husband’s/Wife’s Official Birth Certificate
  4. Husband’s/Wife’s Current Passport
  5. Verification of income e.g. Pay slips, company financial statements, employment letter.
  6. Recent Bank Statement
  7. Two (2) passport-sized photographs certified by a Justice of the Peace, a Notary Public or someone authorized to administer Oaths.
  8. A Tax Compliance Certificate ( If resident in Jamaica)
  9. A Police Certificate from country of Residence

Fee:  Postal Order of £155 should be made payable to the Ministry of National Security.  Additional fee of £5.40 is required for postage of the completed document upon return from Jamaica.

Please note that the application must be made through the High Commission.
